Have you met the 2012 DREAM TEAM from the Canadian Cancer Society?
There are twelve ambassadors for the 2012 New Brunswick Dream Team of the Canadian Cancer Society, who live throughout various parts of New Brunswick. They have each pledged to raise $10,000 ... EACH!
In March, I was approached by Nadine Shalala of the Saint John Branch to photograph one of the members of the team, Anne.
And of course, I said yes!
Having to try to organize 12 prominant and professional individuals, with busy schedules for one photoshoot isn't an easy task!
This is one of the many illustrations of the uses of Photoshop. All 12 people could not be together at one time, in one place for one photoshoot - for various photographers accross the province took images of the 12 Dream Team members.
Nadine and Anne came to my studio, and the pictures were emailed off the lead photographer - Rachelle Richard-Léger in Moncton, and voila! - the Dream Team photo was about to be complete. Here's the final image. (Anne is in the black on the right.)
Last year was my first year participating in a Relay for Life event. I went along with two other photographers from my camera club, and the 3 of us captured the 2011 Relay for Life event here in Hampton.
The event takes place again this weekend at the high school, with kick off at 4:45. Sixteen teams, numerous volunteers and community supporters will come together once again to honour our cancer victims, celebrate our cancer survivors and raise money to assist in continuing cancer research. This annual event has become an early summer fixture in our Town thanks to the many dedicated volunteers who step up each year, in partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, to help move the cure for cancer research forward.
This year’s teams include Snow Angels, Happy-Ness, Hampton Pharamasave, Shiretown, Tim Hortons, Fight Like a Girl, United We Stand, Ya Ya Sisterhood, Canadian Tire, Kingston Kids, Platypus Power, Hour Way, Running Late, Hopeful Hearts, Scotia Bank and NBCC Remission Accomplished.
I was glad to be a part of such a great event, for a great cause!
Lisa Garnett is based in the greater Saint John Area, with a studio located in East Saint John.
